Trackman 4 is the launch monitor most tour professionals, coaches and club fitters use. It sits on the ground behind the ball and runs two radar systems at once: a short-range, high-resolution radar for the club and impact, and a long-range radar that follows the ball for its entire flight. It works indoors and outdoors, in any light.
What sets it apart
- Dual radar: one radar tracks the club through impact while the other tracks the ball from launch to landing.
- More than 40 data parameters: 17 club and 13 ball measurements, plus 25 for putting.
- Impact location: Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking shows where on the face you struck the ball.
- Built-in camera: records video of each swing, with target alignment and automatic levelling.
- Portable: 6.6 lb, with a battery good for four hours or more and built-in Wi-Fi.
What it measures
- Club: club speed, attack angle, club path, face angle, face to path, dynamic loft, spin loft, swing plane, swing direction, low point, dynamic lie, impact height and impact offset, among others.
- Ball: ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, launch direction, spin rate, spin axis, height, curve, landing angle, carry, side, total and side total.
Using it indoors
- As a radar unit, Trackman 4 sits behind the golfer, so it needs more room depth than an overhead or camera-based launch monitor.
- Trackman specifies at least 16 ft from the unit to the screen or net, and recommends a room 18 ft deep or more, 15 ft wide, with a 10 ft ceiling.
- Short on depth? An overhead unit such as the Trackman iO is the better fit. Ask us if you are not sure.
