Choosing simulator flooring

A good hitting surface protects your joints, holds a real tee, and gives honest feedback on fat shots. Most bays combine a premium hitting mat with lower-cost stance and putting turf around it, so the expensive surface is only where you hit from.

Turf is sold by the linear foot so you can cover the whole bay. Add a rug or runner behind the hitting area if the room doubles as a lounge or theatre.

Frequently asked questions

Measure the bay length and width. Turf rolls are a fixed width, so calculate the number of strips and order the total length. Turf is final sale, so measure twice.

Camera units want a mat with a consistent, non-reflective surface and enough clearance for the unit’s view. If in doubt, tell us your launch monitor and we will confirm the mat.

A foam underlay under stance turf makes long sessions more comfortable and quietens the room. It is optional under the hitting mat itself.
