Why a smart plug on a launch monitor
In a commercial facility the launch monitor lives on the ceiling or behind the hitting area, and nobody wants to power-cycle it by hand. A Shelly plug puts the outlet on the network, so the bay computer, a scheduled automation, or a phone can cut power at close and restore it before the first booking. It also gives you a clean remote reboot when a unit stops responding, which is the fix for most launch-monitor tickets.
- Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Matter, so it works with Home Assistant, Google Home, Apple Home and SmartThings, or straight from a browser
- Local HTTP and MQTT control for scripting on/off from the bay computer
- Power metering shows whether the monitor is actually drawing power
- UL-listed, 15 A outlet, fits a standard North American receptacle
How we use it
One plug per bay on the launch monitor’s power supply, with a nightly off and a morning on. Ask us about scheduling if you are setting up multiple bays.
